Withdrawal Policy
The Journal of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination (JCCEC) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts conscientiously, as withdrawal after submission or acceptance can interrupt the editorial workflow and waste valuable time and resources of reviewers and editors. This policy outlines the conditions and procedures for manuscript withdrawal.
Pre-Review Withdrawal
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer review process begins.
To do so, the corresponding author must send a written withdrawal request to the journal’s official email address.
Such withdrawals are permitted without penalty, provided that a clear and reasonable justification is given.
Post-Review Withdrawal
If authors wish to withdraw their manuscript after peer review has commenced, they must provide a strong and ethically valid justification.
Examples include:
-
Discovery of significant methodological errors
-
Ethical concerns regarding data
-
Issues affecting the validity of the research
The request will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, and approval will be granted only under legitimate circumstances.
Post-Acceptance Withdrawal
Withdrawing a manuscript after acceptance is strongly discouraged and considered unethical except under the following conditions:
-
Discovery of major data errors affecting research validity
-
Duplicate submission or publication identified post-acceptance
-
Violation of ethical research or authorship standards
In such cases, the authors must submit a formal withdrawal request, which will be evaluated by the editorial board.
Published Articles
Once an article has been published online or in print, it cannot be withdrawn.
However, in cases involving serious ethical violations (plagiarism, falsified data, copyright infringement, etc.), the article may be retracted in accordance with the journal’s Retraction Policy and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Withdrawal Request Procedure
All withdrawal requests must:
-
Be submitted by the corresponding author from their registered email
-
Include the manuscript title, submission ID, and a detailed reason for withdrawal
-
Receive formal acknowledgment from the editorial office to be considered complete
No withdrawal is valid until the journal provides written confirmation.
Withdrawal Fee
If the manuscript is already under active peer review or has entered the production stage, a withdrawal fee may be charged to cover editorial and processing costs incurred during manuscript handling.
Ethical Considerations
Repeated or unjustified manuscript withdrawals may result in:
-
Temporary submission restrictions
-
Permanent ban from submitting to JCCEC
-
Notification to the author’s institution (in severe cases)
Authors are advised to ensure that all co-authors approve the submission and withdrawal decisions prior to contacting the journal.
