Abstract
Climate change presents not only an environmental crisis but also a socio-economic challenge, exacerbating inequalities within societies. Climate justice, an emerging field of study, seeks to understand the distributional impacts of climate change and the responses to it. This paper explores the socio-economic dimensions of climate justice, focusing on how climate vulnerability and response mechanisms disproportionately affect marginalized communities in Pakistan. Through the lens of climate vulnerability, we examine the linkages between socio-economic status, exposure to climate risks, and the capacity to respond to climate impacts. We argue that climate justice requires addressing these inequalities through inclusive policies that prioritize the most vulnerable populations. Our study contributes to the growing body of literature on climate justice, offering a socio-economic analysis of the issues at hand.
