Abstract

Urban centers across the globe, including Pakistan, are experiencing the increasing impacts of climate change. These impacts include flooding, temperature extremes, and changing precipitation patterns, all of which present challenges to urban sustainability. This article explores the strategies for integrating climate adaptation into urban planning and development, with a focus on enhancing urban climate resilience. The integration of adaptation strategies into urban planning processes is essential for building cities that can withstand climate-related shocks and stresses. This study examines a variety of approaches, including infrastructure improvements, policy integration, and community involvement, to strengthen the resilience of urban areas. Through a multi-disciplinary framework, this article provides insights into the role of urban planning in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change in Pakistan’s urban areas.
